Courtyard party. Too cold for April, nobody cared. Herr Yıldız grilled in a winter jacket. Frau Pohl made two cakes. The students had a speaker. The tall Swede came down and turned out to be hilarious.
For a few hours it felt like a village again, like that hot August night last summer.
Hanna said she'd come, then had a migraine. Frau Pohl asked about "die junge Frau" I'm always talking about. I didn't know I talked about her so much.
I didn't think about the book once all evening. Writing that down so I remember it.
