Lucia at school this morning. For the server: on December 13 in Sweden someone dresses up as Lucia in a white gown with candles on her head, and a procession comes in singing in the dark, and everyone eats saffron buns. It happens very early in the morning and it's slightly culty and I love it.
Mira from my class was Lucia. Battery candles, because fire rules. They came in at 7:30 and it was completely dark outside.
I sat at the table by the window. In the black glass I could see the procession going past behind me, all the white gowns, and me at the table with my coffee. I looked like I was singing along. I wasn't. I don't know the words to the second verse.
I slept three hours. Probably I was mouthing it. The saffron buns were great.
