The 02:56 "noise" is three soft taps. Could be the baseboard. Could be anything.
I don't remember waking up. I do remember a knock, or the idea of one, the way you remember a phone ringing in a dream.
This morning there was a fresh centimetre of snow on the outside stairs, and no footprints in it until mine.
Félix's theory is still that it's me doing a voice. I listened with headphones and pitched the ? line up a little to match mine. Then it sounds like me. It also sounds like anybody, pitched. I know that trick better than most people.
I'm leaving the app on. It's more interesting than TV.
