the man with the radios
I went back to Mauerpark to ask the radio man about the flat in Lichtenberg. Which street, which old lady. Brenneke's "then she kept it after all" has been bothering me for months.
His spot is a guy selling vinyl now.
I asked around. The vinyl guy said the radio man retired, moved to Brandenburg, something about a daughter. The woman selling vintage glasses next to him said she'd never seen a radio man, and she's been there six years.
I described him: big beard, Grundig radios, the giant Rema. She shook her head. "Hier nicht." Not here.
I'm sure I didn't imagine a guy with a fridge-sized radio. But I'm also not sure which Sunday I'd even prove it with. I don't have a photo. Who takes a photo of a flea market stall?
