laps Bronte to Belfast, thirty metres at a time

about

Noreen. Sixty-eight. Bronte, in the unit at the top of the hill, nine minutes down to the water and fourteen back up.

Born in Belfast. In Sydney since 1972. Nursed at St Vincent's for thirty-one years, mostly nights, which is why I'm up at five and can't be cured of it.

I swim most mornings in the Bronte pool. Yellow cap, second lane from the wall. I learned at forty-five and I'm still not pretty at it.

My daughter Claire set this up. She says an about page needs a fun fact. I can't do butterfly, and I don't eat beetroot on a burger, whatever this country says.
